Collective Success

Hello wonderful readers,

Happy Monday!
Thank you to everyone who reached out to me last week letting me know they appreciated the content. I love hearing from you, so if you read something you like, please let me know.
I am here to connect with you, so thank you so much for the kind messages.

Something else I have noticed recently is how success and witnessing someone else succeed implements  jealous and envy within the viewer.

I believe this has been a common reaction to fear, but social media accelerates and exacerbates these feelings.

Success has multiple meanings to the beholder and even to the individuals on the outside looking in. Success can be categorized as: professionally, monetarily, athletically, socioeconomic status, popularity, relationships, possession ownership, ability to help others, happiness, and health. There are many more categorizes that exist, but again, they are in the eyes of the beholder.

When someone has success and shares this, the listener might begin to experience an assortment of emotions. I dislike generalizing, so I will try not to, but some of us experience jealousy and wishing our life "could be like theirs" or even "why can't I be like that person".

Success takes time, effort, tears, heartache, rejection, passion, courage, drive, support, love, and so much more. Most of the time, when we view success through social media and even in person, we just see the product, we don't see what it took behind the scenes to get this success.

Instead of jumping to jealousy or envy when we see success, try changing your train of thought to "wow, this person has something special they have tapped into and are sharing it with the world. I appreciate them." If someone is succeeding in something you are wanting to succeed in, maybe ask them what it took to get where they are currently. Ask them their story, their struggles, their victories. Ask them to share if they are willing because you have similar interests and would value and respect their input. You will be surprised at the responses you get and the insight you will collect by simply honoring the individual(s) success and asking for their help.

Feel free to try out this tactic when you come across someone or a group of people doing something you label as successful and see all of the knowledge you gather.

Thank you all so much for reading.

Have a beautiful week.
